Myotonic or Fainting Goats

mama goat with kidsA breed originating in Tennessee in the 1880's, they are making a dramatic comeback after almost disappearing in the mid twentieth century.  They do not actually faint, rather their muscles "lock" if the goats move too fast or are disturbed.  It is not painful and the animal recovers very quickly.  Myotonic goats are friendly, gentle and curious and make excellent pets.  When crossed with larger goats such as Boers and Nubians they make a large, very high quality meat goat.

We will be offering both pet and meat goats as we develop our herd.  More kids will begin arriving soon.

At this point we have three young wethers born March 12, 2008 $175 for one. Two for $300. Three for $425. Shots and wethered. Available June 12.

The one hiding behind Mom is similar to Mom - white with pale markings.
